schultz-scottA field of seven GOP contenders is poised to grow to eight as 40-year-old Albemarle County resident, Scott Schultz, prepares to enter Virginia’s 5th District primary race to unseat freshman Democrat Tom Perriello.

Schultz, a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and the proprietor of Griffins Perch Metalwork, is expected to formally announce his candidacy early next week.

Schultz joins an assemblage of intra-party rivals that includes: Ken Boyd, Ron Ferrin, Robert Hurt, Mike McPadden, Jim McKelvey, Feda Morton and Laurence Verga.
