Peaceful protestors in downtown Charlottesville racked-up a healthy bill while painting the town “red,” Sunday.
Charlottesville City Officials preliminarily estimate the cost of cleanup to be $19,630.78—a pretty penny indeed in times of COVID-constricted budgets.
I think Chief Brackney, Dr. Richardson, Mayor Walker, and the rest of City Council should have been out there bright and early Sunday morning with buckets and scrub brushes because they allowed protestors to vandalize the street and police station with profanity unchallenged. Why should taxpayers have to foot the bill to pay time for 5 city workers with heavy machinery to do the cleaning?
There are no leaders in City Hall — only enablers.
