A “Welcome to Charlottesville Virginia” sign posted at Monticello Rd., Exit 121—a main City entrance corridor—has been vandalized by local anarchists.
The damaged guidepost was part of a nearly $1M signage makeover instituted by former City Manager, Maurice Jones, early in his tenure.

I spoke to members of the GOP and they said not to worry, that this was merely the work of tourists just wanting their voices to be heard. One said, “You know, if you only saw the photograph, you wouldn’t know that this was just a normal tourist visit.” Then he turned back to his work to undermine our democracy.
