The Blue Spade (aka Scott Bandy) strikes again—this time with a salient message for Charlottesville voters.
In an adroit reworking of Pat Benetar’s first top ten hit, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Bandy urges voters in Charlottesville’s June 9 primary elections to “Single Shot Your Next Vote.” Spade provides listeners with a not-so-subtle reminder of the time tested “single-shot” voting method, used to elect racial and political minority candidates in corrupt, at-large election systems like the one used in Charlottesville.
The song was performed live on the June 2 edition of WINA’s The Schilling Show.

By Scott Bandy
Well Sugartown’s filled by elitists of diversity
Besides those hanging with the university
Just you try and ask the right question
You’ll see what makes for – your representation
Single shot your next vote
Why don’t you single shot your next vote
Single shot your next vote
Primary Day
Go on profile go on – it’s demographic
One Charlottesville – one choregraphic
Tell me mad is what’s’ the same
Expecting diff’rent results and not some game
Single shot your next vote
Why don’t you single shot your next vote
Single shot your next vote
Primary Day
:::: Watchdog Deputies Air Guitar ::::
Well Sugartown’s filled with elitists of diversity
Besides those hanging with the university
Before whoever’s lined up pitches another curve
Remember who you vote in is the one you deserve
Single shot your next vote
Cville – single shot your next vote
Single shot your next vote
Primary Day
Single shot your next vote
Go on and single shot your next vote
Single shot your next vote
Primary Day
[Blue Spade closing with line] – This political tactic would be so useless in a Ward System…..
